Web Design Tonbridge
Freelance Web Designer in Tonbridge
Tonbridge still has a proper High Street, which is rarer than it used to be. If you run something on it, you’re not really competing with your neighbours — you’re competing with a national chain that never closes. You don’t need to outspend them. You need a website that makes choosing you the obvious thing to do.

Tonbridge still has a proper High Street, which is rarer than it used to be.
If you run something on it — a shop, a studio, a salon, a small practice — you already know what you’re up against. Not the business three doors down. A national chain with a marketing budget, and a website that will sell to your customer at eleven o’clock at night while you’re asleep.
You don’t need to outspend them. You need a website that makes choosing you the obvious thing to do.
I’m Marcin, a freelance web designer based in Maidstone, about twenty-five minutes up the A26.
What independents get wrong online
Usually one of two things.
Hiding behind social media. A Facebook page isn’t a website. It shows what you posted this week, not what you do, what it costs, or why you’re better. And you don’t own it — the platform changes the rules and your reach disappears overnight.
Building a brochure nobody needed. Five pages of “welcome to our website” that say nothing a customer wanted to know. What do you sell, what does it cost, when are you open, and why should I come to you instead of ordering it?
The site that works for an independent is usually simpler than people expect and more specific than they’re comfortable with.
What I’d build instead
Something that answers the actual questions: what you do, what it costs, where to find you, when you’re open, and what other people thought.
Something that turns up when someone nearby searches for what you sell — which for most Tonbridge businesses means being properly set up on Google as much as having a good site. I do both.
And something you can update yourself. If your prices change or you close for a week in August, you shouldn’t have to email me about it.

What it costs
Independents ask about price first, and quite right too.
My website packages start at £1,499 and I’ll give you a fixed quote before anything starts — not an hourly rate that grows. If a simple three-page site does what you need, that’s what I’ll quote for.
How we’d work together
A conversation first, half an hour, no charge. Tonbridge is close enough that I’m happy to come to the shop — it’s usually more useful for me to see the place than to hear it described.
Then a fixed quote, a design you sign off, the build, and a handover so it’s genuinely yours.
