Web Design in Tunbridge Wells
Businesses in Tunbridge Wells tend to care how things look, and it shows — in the signage, the interiors, the packaging. Then the website turns out to be five years old and built by someone else entirely. That gap costs you, because online is where most people meet you first. I build sites that look like the business actually looks.
Web Design in Tunbridge Wells
Businesses in Tunbridge Wells tend to care how things look.
You can see it walking through the Pantiles or along the high street — the signage is considered, the interiors are done properly, the packaging has had someone’s attention. Then you look the same business up on your phone and find a website built five years ago by somebody else, with a logo that isn’t quite the current one.
That gap costs more than people think, because online is where most of your customers meet you first. Whatever care went into the shop, the website is the version most people actually see.
I’m Marcin, a freelance web designer based in Maidstone, about half an hour up the A26.
What an out-of-date site actually costs you
Not just looks. Three practical things:
It undersells you. If your website looks cheaper than your business is, people assume your prices should match. That’s a difficult conversation to have later.
It’s slow on a phone. Most people find you on mobile, often on patchy signal. Sites built a few years ago were designed for desktop and retro-fitted. Every second of load time loses people who would have come in.
It contradicts you. A site still advertising last winter’s opening hours or a service you dropped tells a visitor nobody’s minding it. People extend that judgement to the rest of the business, fairly or not.
Redesign or rebuild?
This is the question most Tunbridge Wells businesses should be asking, and the answer often saves money.
If the structure underneath is sound and it just looks tired, a redesign of what you have is cheaper and faster, and I’ll say so. If it’s built on something that can’t be rescued or so slow that no amount of restyling fixes it, rebuilding is the honest answer.
I’ll tell you which after looking at it. That conversation costs nothing and occasionally costs me the bigger job.
Who I work with here
Independent retail, hospitality, wellness and treatment practices, studios and consultancies businesses where how you present yourself is part of what you sell.
If you’re a professional practice, the emphasis shifts toward credibility rather than aesthetics: websites for professionals. Trades are covered here: websites for tradespeople.
How we’d work together
Tunbridge Wells is close enough that I’m happy to come to you, and for a business where the space is part of the brand it usually helps me to see it.
Then a fixed quote in writing. You approve the design before anything gets built. Then a handover, so changing your opening hours doesn’t mean emailing me.
